Beer Cheese Dip

Whether it's a Superbowl party, family reunion, a potluck or birthday party, a dip is always a crowd-pleaser! The family raved about this dip! Super easy to put together.

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/3 cups beer (I used Samuel Adams. Use your favorite beer - Light, medium or dark will work.)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 2 cups Italian 4-cheese blend, shredded
  • 8 oz. Velvetta cheese, cubed
Mix together the flour, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Melt butter. Gradually add flour mixture, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat for 1 minute to cook the flour taste out.

Stir in milk and beer a little bit at a time. Cook over medium heat. Add mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Cook sauce until thick and bubbly

Reduce heat to low, add in cheeses and stir until melted and smooth. If sauce is too thick, add a little more milk.
